Ronseal Fence Life Plus+ isn’t your bog standard fence treatment. You can use it on all rough sawn and smooth planed sheds and fences. It’ll stand up to rain, frost and snow and won’t lose its colour in the sun. In fact with 2 coats on rough sawn or 3 coats on smooth planed wood, you won’t have to do it again for up to 5 years. We’ve also made it easy to use. You can brush it or spray it on. You can even apply it to damp wood. Perfect for the unpredictable weather.
Â
PREPARATION
If it’s been raining you’ll need to let the wood dry for 5 hours
before putting it on. The wood can be damp, but not dripping wet. And it should
not be applied in the rain. Make sure it’s a warm, dry day (above 10°C). Cold
wet weather stops it from drying and it may even wash off. Clean the wood with
a stiff brush to get rid of any dirt. If you’re spraying it on, always read the
sprayer instructions first.
Check you’re happy with the colour, find a small hidden patch of
wood and try it before you cover the whole fence or shed.
Â
USING FENCE LIFE PLUS WITH A BRUSH
Get loads of Fence Life Plus+ on your brush. Put a thick coat on
and if you see any drips, brush them in. On rough sawn wood you’ll need to use
2 coats to get 5 Year colour protection. For smooth planed wood you’ll need to
put on 3 coats. If your wood is very weathered, you may need to put another
coat on. Leave 4 hours between coats. Any drips on plants, paving etc should be
cleaned up straight away with soapy water before it dries.
Â
Â
WITH A SPRAYER
Pour the liquid into the tank. Pump it up or turn it on and
start spraying. When spraying, the tip for getting an even finish is to use
long, sweeping, horizontal arm movements. Move along the full width of the
fence panel, drop down and do the same again. Overlap each pass by 50%. This
will make sure the whole area is covered with the correct amount of product. On
rough sawn wood you’ll need to use 2 coats to get 5 Year colour protection. For
smooth planed wood you’ll need to put on 3 coats.
If your wood is very weathered, you may need to put another coat
on. Leave 4 hours between coats.
Any overspray should be cleaned up straight away with soapy
water before it dries.
Â
CLEAN UP BRUSH
Take as much product as possible off your brush and then clean
it in warm, soapy water. Don’t empty any Fence Life Plus+ into drains or
watercourses. Your local authority may have special ways to get rid of waste
product.
Â
SPRAYERS
Sprayers aren’t cheap, so if you want to use them again, you
need to keep them clean. Don’t leave any Fence Life Plus+ in the sprayer. Flush
the sprayer out with water and make sure the sprayer wand and nozzle are clean.
For full instructions on clean up please read your sprayer instruction manual.
Keep the tub secure and stood upright toÂ
prevent spills.
